VISIT TO CALCUTTA HIGH COURT JULY- AUGUST 2026 Law 23-07-2026 to 24-08-2026
The Department of Law organized an Exposure Visit to the Hon’ble High Court at Calcutta from 23rd July 2026 to 24th August 2026. The visit was designed to provide students with experiential learning and firsthand exposure to the functioning of the higher judiciary, courtroom proceedings, judicial infrastructure, litigation practices, and professional responsibilities. It aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical legal education and practical legal practice by familiarizing students with court procedures, filing, listing, documentation, case management, courtroom etiquette, advocacy practices, and professional ethics. The programme also enabled students to understand the roles and responsibilities of judges, advocates, and other legal professionals.
During the visit, students observed court proceedings and gained practical insights into legal arguments and judicial reasoning. They developed a better understanding of court procedures, documentation, filing, listing, and case management while becoming familiar with courtroom discipline, advocacy practices, professional conduct, and ethical responsibilities. The exposure enabled students to relate theoretical legal concepts to their practical application in an actual court environment. Overall, the visit served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity, strengthening students’ understanding of judicial and litigation processes and enhancing their awareness of professional practices associated with the legal field.
