Community BLS Readiness Nursing The Indian Red Cross Society 17-06-2026

The Institute of Nursing, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, organized the “Community BLS Readiness” programme on 17th June 2026 for skill development students. The session focused on developing fundamental life-saving awareness and preparing participants to respond effectively during sudden cardiac emergencies in community and public settings. The programme included an introductory briefing, step-by-step demonstrations, hands-on practice, interactive discussions, and skill validation, with emphasis on hands-only CPR, assessing emergency situations safely, coordinating with bystanders, managing public emergencies, and communicating effectively with emergency medical services.

The programme successfully strengthened participants’ confidence, situational awareness, and preparedness to act as community-level first responders. By translating essential emergency response protocols into practical and accessible learning, the initiative helped reduce hesitation and encouraged responsible intervention during critical situations. The programme aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being by strengthening community awareness and emergency preparedness, and SDG 4: Quality Education by providing inclusive, practical, and life-saving skill development opportunities. Overall, the initiative contributed to building a more responsive and resilient community equipped to assist during life-threatening emergencies.
