Free Eye Screening Camp Allied Health Sciences IRCS & Lion’s Club of Calcutta Circular 12-07-2026
The Department of Allied Health Sciences at Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), C2C, and the Lion’s Club of Calcutta Circular, successfully organized a Free Eye Screening & Health Check-up Camp on July 12, 2026, near 2½ Airport Gate, Kolkata. The initiative aimed to promote preventive healthcare and improve access to essential eye and general health screening services for the local community.
Students from the Optometry and Bachelor of Physician Assistant (BPA) programmes actively participated by assisting healthcare professionals with comprehensive eye screenings, basic health assessments, and community interaction. Their involvement provided valuable hands-on clinical experience while enhancing their practical skills, teamwork, and patient-centered approach to healthcare.
The outreach programme reflected Brainware University’s commitment to community service and experiential learning by combining healthcare delivery with professional skill development, while promoting greater awareness of preventive health and early diagnosis.
