150 Youth from Six States and Union Territories at Vande Mataram Camp at Brainware University: Celebrating One Song. One Spirit. One Nation.
As India celebrates the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram – the timeless national song composed by Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay – a historic journey began at Brainware University, Barasat, with the inauguration of the first-ever Seven-Day Vande Mataram Camp, organised by MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat), West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, under the aegis of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Our campus transforms into a vibrant symbol of unity, patriotism, and youth empowerment as 150 young participants from six States and Union Territories – Gujarat, Meghalaya, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands – come together under one inspiring theme: ‘One Song, One Spirit, One Nation.’
The inaugural ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of Dr. Sankar Gangopadhyay, Vice Chancellor, Brainware University; Deb Kumar Chatterjee, State Director, MY Bharat, West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands; Rizwi Sahnaz Rahman, Deputy Director, MY Bharat; Anup Kumar Maiti, Dean of Students’ Welfare, Brainware University; and Madhab Bandhyopadhyay, NSS Officer, Brainware University.
The day began with participant registrations and orientation sessions, where young minds from different corners of India met with a shared purpose — to celebrate the spirit of nation-building and strengthen the ideals of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat through cultural exchange, mutual learning, and meaningful dialogue.
The inauguration ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a heartfelt floral tribute to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, honouring the visionary whose words continue to inspire generations. The atmosphere resonated with patriotism as the NSS Unit of Brainware University presented a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, reminding everyone of the song’s enduring role in India’s journey of freedom and unity.
As the ceremony progressed, the spirit of celebration came alive through a captivating group dance performance themed on Vande Mataram by the Brainware University NSS Unit, followed by the collective singing of the National Song — a truly goosebumps-worthy moment for everyone present.
The evening unfolded into a spectacular showcase of India’s cultural diversity, as participants from different States and Union Territories presented vibrant cultural performances reflecting their unique traditions, languages, and heritage. It was a beautiful reminder that despite our diversity, the soul of India beats as one.
