The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Brainware University, in collaboration with the Gender Sensitisation Cell (GSC) and the Departmental Library, organized a seminar titled “Breaking the Silence: Clinical Psychological Management of Early-age Sexual Trauma” on April 9, 2026, at UBIII-405. The programme aimed to promote awareness, empathy, and emotional well-being among students while encouraging open conversations around psychological trauma and mental health support.

The seminar featured an insightful session by Surangana Ghosh, who discussed the psychological impact of early-age sexual trauma, coping mechanisms, counselling interventions, and the importance of timely clinical and professional support. Students actively participated in the interactive discussion session, engaging with the speaker through thoughtful questions and reflections that fostered greater understanding and sensitivity towards the issue.

The initiative received an encouraging response from participants and successfully created a platform for awareness, dialogue, and emotional support within the academic community. By addressing an important social and psychological concern, the event strengthened the university’s commitment to building a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive campus environment.
