Awareness programme – Palpakuria Oboitonik Primary School Food, Nutrition & Dietetics Outreach 24-03-2026

The Department of Food & Nutrition, Brainware University successfully organized an outreach nutrition programme to assess the nutritional status of children aged 4–6 years and promote awareness about balanced nutrition, healthy eating habits, and early intervention against malnutrition. The initiative focused on evaluating children’s growth patterns through anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, and MUAC, along with dietary assessments to identify nutritional gaps, feeding practices, and potential health risks. Through school-based engagement and community participation, the programme also included nutrition education sessions and awareness activities for children, parents, and teachers, emphasizing the importance of balanced diets and healthy lifestyle practices for proper growth and development. By integrating assessment, education, and community outreach, the programme contributed to the early identification and prevention of malnutrition while promoting child health, nutritional awareness, and overall well-being.
