During the institutional visit, students explored the academic, research, laboratory, and field facilities of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya and gained exposure to practical aspects of agricultural education, experimental farm management, crop improvement, sustainable production practices, and research-based problem solving. The interaction with researchers and faculty members helped students understand how scientific agriculture contributes to improving crop productivity, food security, environmental sustainability, and rural livelihood development. The activity directly aligns with SDG 1: No Poverty by promoting agricultural knowledge that can strengthen rural income opportunities; SDG 2: Zero Hunger by exposing students to improved crop production and food security strategies; SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being through awareness of quality food production and nutritionally secure agriculture; SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production by encouraging sustainable and efficient use of agricultural resources; SDG 13: Climate Action through exposure to climate-resilient and resource-conserving agricultural practices; and SDG 15: Life on Land by developing awareness of biodiversity, soil health, crop ecosystems, and sustainable land management.

Conclusion:

The institutional visit to BCKV served as a meaningful academic enrichment activity for the participating agriculture students by strengthening their practical understanding of modern agricultural science and research. The exposure helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world agricultural applications while encouraging scientific thinking, innovation, and professional curiosity among students. Overall, the visit contributed to experiential learning, enhanced students’ awareness of sustainable agriculture, and motivated them to apply scientific knowledge for addressing contemporary challenges related to food security, environmental protection, climate resilience, and rural development.
