Application of AI in the Agriculture Department of Agriculture with the Institutions Innovation Council 20-04-2026 – 24-04-2026
During the program, participants were oriented about the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence in agriculture, particularly in crop monitoring, yield estimation, pest and disease forecasting, and efficient use of water, fertilizers, and other farm inputs. The activities emphasized how AI can help farmers make timely and informed decisions, reduce crop losses, improve productivity, and optimize resource use. These activities directly support SDG 2: Zero Hunger by promoting improved agricultural productivity and food security; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure by encouraging the adoption of innovative digital technologies in farming; and SDG 13: Climate Action by highlighting AI-based decision-support systems for climate-resilient agriculture and better adaptation to changing environmental conditions.
Conclusion:
The outreach program successfully created awareness about the importance of Artificial Intelligence as a transformative tool for sustainable agricultural development. It helped participants understand the relevance of AI-driven approaches in improving productivity, reducing risks, and supporting climate-smart farming practices. The program also strengthened the link between academic knowledge and field-level application, encouraging students, farmers, and stakeholders to explore innovative, data-driven solutions for the future of agriculture.
