Characters and characteristics of 3D modelling: an insightful workshop for the Multimedia students
Texturing is a very important part of the 3D modelling process. All of the finer characteristics of characters in 3D modelling, such as wrinkles and individual carpet threads, are the product of texture applied by a 3D artist. To give an overview of the art of texturing and 3D modelling, the Multimedia students attended the workshop on ‘Brushing Brilliance’. The workshop was conducted by 3D modelling and texture artist Sourav Dalui.
In a 3D environment, texture can give the spectator a sense of substance about an object. Just by glancing at these objects, viewers should be able to tell what they are composed of. This workshop gave an idea about the vast prospects of 3D modelling and texturing to the Multimedia students.
