Advanced Workshop on Scleral Contact Lenses Allied Health Sciences 21-04-2026
The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University successfully organized an Advanced Workshop on Scleral Contact Lenses on 21st April 2026 at Jagadish Bhavan, UB IV for students of Bachelor’s and Master’s programs in Optometry.
The session was conducted by Mr. Santanu Ray, Assistant Professor, Department of Optometry, BGC School of Allied Health, Kolkata, providing participants with valuable knowledge and practical exposure to scleral lens design, fitting techniques, clinical applications, and patient management strategies.
The workshop featured expert lectures, live demonstrations, hands-on training sessions, interactive case discussions, and Q&A sessions, enabling students to strengthen their clinical skills and understanding of specialty contact lenses used in managing complex corneal and ocular surface conditions.
Aligned with SDG 4: Quality Education, the initiative promoted competency-based learning, practical skill enhancement, and professional development in advanced optometric care.
