
Educational Visit to the RBI Museum: Exploring India’s Banking and Financial Heritage Commerce 29-10-2025
Introduction: The event titled “Educational Visit to the RBI Museum: Exploring India’s Banking and Financial Heritage” was organized on 29th of October 2025 between 11:30am to 3:30pm at the RBI Museum, 8 Council House Street, BBD Bagh, Near HSBC Bank, Kolkata – 700001. The event was a study tour or industry visit which was conducted in physical mode. The event was conducted by the Department of Commerce in collaboration with IQAC of Brainware University, with the aim to enhance students’ understanding of India’s banking and financial evolution and its connection with real-world economic practices. The museum visit provided an opportunity for experiential learning, enabling students to explore the Reserve Bank of India’s role in managing the nation’s financial stability and fostering economic growth.
Objectives: The primary objectives of the workshop were:
- Financial literacy and practical understanding:
To strengthen students’ knowledge of India’s banking and financial evolution while linking theoretical concepts of commerce, economics, and finance with the operational framework of the Reserve Bank of India. - Experiential and technological exposure:
To provide hands-on learning through interactions with historical exhibits, currency management systems, and digital advancements in the monetary sector, fostering analytical and practical insights.
Empowerment and heritage appreciation:
To inspire young commerce minds to appreciate India’s rich economic heritage and understand the RBI’s contribution to maintaining national economic stability.
