From Pond to Plate: A Day at Ceeblu Fisheries

From Pond to Plate: A Day at Ceeblu Fisheries Biotechnology with Institution’s Innovation Council 06.04.2026

An industrial visit to CEEBLU Fisheries was organized as part of the academic curriculum to provide students with practical exposure to modern aquaculture practices. The visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications in fisheries science.

Through a well-structured schedule comprising lecture sessions, hatchery visits, and field demonstrations, students gained firsthand experience in induced breeding techniques, hatchery management, and fish seed production. They were also introduced to diverse aquaculture systems such as Recirculatory Aquaculture Systems (RAS), cage and pen farming, and composite fish culture.

The visit emphasized sustainable practices, including sewage-fed fish culture, while also offering insights into water quality management, fish health, and government-supported schemes in aquaculture. Additionally, students explored emerging career paths and entrepreneurial opportunities within the fisheries sector.

Overall, the visit proved to be highly enriching, enhancing practical understanding and inspiring students to apply their knowledge in professional and entrepreneurial contexts within aquaculture.
