Seminar on “Role of Educational Institutions in Preventing Gender-Based Violence”

A seminar on “Role of Educational Institutions in Preventing Gender-Based Violence” was organized on 15 January 2026 during the Even Semester by the Gender Champion Club in collaboration with the Gender Sensitisation Cell, Department of Law, and Department of Media Science and Journalism.

The seminar aimed to raise awareness among students about the responsibility of educational institutions in promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. The discussion focused on understanding gender-based violence, its impact on individuals and society, and the role that educational institutions can play in prevention through awareness, policy implementation, and support systems.

The session also highlighted the importance of mental health and wellness, emphasizing the need to create supportive spaces where students feel safe to speak about their concerns and seek help when required. Participants were encouraged to understand their rights, respect diversity, and contribute to building a gender-sensitive campus culture.
