The Central Library of Brainware University organized an event Remembering Vidyasagar…. to
commemorate the 204th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar.

The main purpose of celebrating Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s contributions is to honor his legacy
as a pioneer of social reform, education, and progressive values. Such programs aim to raise
awareness about his advocacy for women’s rights, particularly widow remarriage and female
education, as well as his efforts to modernize Bengali language and literature. Celebrating
Vidyasagar also serves to inspire new generations to uphold principles of equality, compassion,
and the pursuit of knowledge.
