In a world increasingly shaped by shifting geopolitical identities, Brainware University’s Department of English & Literary Studies proudly hosted the 4th International Conference on ‘Understanding the Global South: Transition and Transmission’. Conducted in hybrid mode, this intellectually vibrant event brought together celebrated academicians, scholars, and writers to engage in critical discourse on how the Global South negotiates its narratives through movement, memory, literature, and lived realities.

With keynote addresses from distinguished speakers like Dr. Sajal Bhattacharya, Dr. M. Leema Rose, and the renowned author of My Apartheid Diary, Sedick Crombie, the conference spotlighted themes such as decolonial literature, translation, marginal identities, and transnational dialogues. The sessions bridged scholarship and solidarity, theory and praxis, emphasising the evolving voice of the Global South in global conversations.

From impassioned student volunteers to faculty soaking in nuanced ideas, the seminar hall echoed with thought, transformation, and transmission. The event was a landmark moment in our journey towards inclusive academic dialogue and intercultural understanding.
