The Department of Media Science and Journalism, Brainware University, organized a seminar titled “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Media – A Transition!” on May 12, 2025, at Vidyasagar Bhavan (UB-II), Room 007. The session focused on “From Ink to AI: The Evolution of Media Making,” highlighting how artificial intelligence is revolutionizing media production, storytelling, and journalism.
The event featured two eminent speakers — Mr. Joydeep Dasgupta, Editor of News Sense, and Dr. (Prof.) Mrityunjoy Chatterjee, Director of Sarada Maa Girls College and Advisor at Ramakrishna Vivekananda Mission. Both resource persons discussed the ethical, creative, and professional implications of AI in modern media.
The seminar offered valuable insights into automation, AI-driven content creation, and the need for media professionals to adapt to technological transitions. It successfully engaged students and faculty, encouraging them to explore the future scope of AI in communication and journalism.
