The Department of Mechanical Engineering hosted a two-day insightful session with expert Swapnil Srivastava, Jr., Works Manager, Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, on ‘Innovations in 3D Printing and 3D Scanning: Technology, Applications, and Hands-on Sessions’. Students explored CAD modelling, additive manufacturing processes like VAT Polymerisation, Binder Jetting, and Powder Bed Fusion, and the real-world applications of these technologies. The talk also delved into 3D Scanning, demonstrating how physical objects can be digitised for precise analysis and design modifications. A hands-on session allowed students to interact directly with the tools shaping tomorrow’s engineering landscape. A fascinating fusion of theory and practice!
