SAATHI 2025: A Grand Confluence of Agri Wisdom at Brainware University! 

The Department of Agriculture, Brainware University hosted the National Seminar on ‘Sustainable Agro–Food Advancement through Traditional Heritage and Indigenous Knowledge’ (SAATHI 2025), bringing together scholars, researchers, and delegates to explore the future of India’s agro-food systems.

Hon’ble Chancellor Mr. Phalguni Mookhopadhayay set the tone with his presence as the campus welcomed an extraordinary panel of experts

The one-day seminar set the stage for deep academic dialogue on sustainable farming, traditional practices, innovative technologies, and policy-driven solutions for India’s evolving agricultural landscape.

Distinguished Speakers Who Enlightened the Seminar:

Dr. Gouranga Kar, Director, ICAR–CRIJAF – Highlighted the urgency of understanding and reducing the water footprint in agriculture.

Dr. Pradip Dey, Director, ICAR–ATARI Kolkata – Charted India’s remarkable journey toward food self-sufficiency and its historic milestones.

Prof. (Dr.) Pranab Hazra, Former Dean (PG Studies), BCKV – Offered an insightful perspective on traditional agriculture and how modern science has shaped today’s farming systems.

Prof. (Dr.) Nirmal Kumar Mondal, HOD, Agricultural Biotechnology, BCKV – Demonstrated how advanced molecular biology can harness traditional crops to meet the nutritional needs of India’s growing population.

Their powerful deliberations touched upon crucial themes—soil health, climate-resilient practices, biotechnology breakthroughs, and the timeless value of indigenous knowledge systems—emphasising the need for integrated, region-specific strategies for sustainable agriculture.
