Agriculture
11-9-2024
The industrial visit to Haringhata Farm will span over two days and provide students with a structured set of learning activities. The program will begin with an orientation session conducted by the accompanying faculty members, briefing students on the objectives and expectations of the visit.
Students will then engage in a guided tour of the farm facilities, where they will observe firsthand the integrated systems of livestock and poultry management. Special sessions will be conducted by Dr. Prabir Kumar Pathak, Additional Director (ARD), who will share his expertise and practical insights into sustainable farm management practices. Students will get the opportunity to study the breeding,
feeding, housing, and disease management strategies employed in both poultry and livestock units.
Demonstrations on fodder management, waste recycling, and resource utilization will also be part of the visit, allowing students to understand the importance of sustainability in modern agriculture.
Throughout the program, students will interact with farm professionals and technical staff, enabling them to ask questions and clarify concepts. Faculty mentors will guide students in connecting their field observations with classroom theories, ensuring a holistic and application-oriented learning experience. In addition, reflective discussions and group activities were conducted at the end of the day.
