SDG 2: Zero Hunger  |  Metric 2.3 Student Hunger

2.3.2 Students staff hunger interventions

Brainware University has established the Student Food Security and Hunger Alleviation Policy to address student hunger and food insecurity and promote access to adequate, safe, nutritious and affordable food. The policy aims to ensure that financial hardship or limited access to food does not prevent students from fully participating in academic and university activities. The policy covers eligible undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma and other students, including day scholars and hostel residents, based on assessed need and available institutional resources. It defines food insecurity as limited, uncertain, or inadequate access to sufficient, nutritious food, including situations where students skip meals, reduce food consumption, or struggle to afford meals because of financial difficulties or emergencies.

Overall, the policy reflects Brainware University's commitment to student welfare, inclusive education and hunger alleviation, supporting UN Sustainable Development Goal 2 (Zero Hunger) through structured food assistance, financial-support linkages and continuous monitoring of student food-security needs.
