SDG 1: No Poverty  |  Metric 1.3 University anti-poverty programmes

1.3.2 Bottom financial quintile student success

Brainware University’s Policy for Graduation and Completion Support for Students from Economically Disadvantaged Households aims to ensure that financial hardship does not become a barrier to academic progression and successful graduation. The policy, approved by the Governing Board, provides a framework for supporting students through merit-cum-means scholarships, need-based fee concessions, tuition-fee waivers, emergency financial assistance, hostel support, and access to government scholarships. Academic support includes faculty mentoring, counselling, remedial assistance, career guidance, and monitoring of attendance and academic progress. Although the University does not currently prescribe a separate numerical graduation target for students belonging to the bottom 20% of household-income groups, it is committed to equitable opportunities, student retention, programme completion, and continuous improvement through periodic monitoring and review.
