85% of Indian children reported being cyberbullied as well as having cyberbullied someone else at rates well over twice the international average as per McAfee\u2019s 2022 Cyberbullying in Plain Sight Report. Cyberbullying takes its resort in anonymity and power imbalance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyberbullying: How it is done and why?\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Cyberbullying instances show that they typically involve the use of the internet and take place through mobile phones, for instance text-based bullying.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Social media is also one of the primary channels through which cyber bullying takes place, including Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Snapchat, and others.<\/span><\/p>\n

While highlighting the psyche of the Cyberbullies, the experts suggest that in general have the target to generate anguish to the victim. Cyberbullies suffer from a low level of empathy for other individuals and as they bully others it shows their miserable situation of power hunger.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In this regard, Soumik Ash, Assistant Professor Department of Law, Brainware University said , \u201cOne of the common reason for Cyberbullying is due to the violence projected in our android screens in form of horror or porn movies. He further added that the victim must be innocent in order to resolve these cyberbullying cases as in some cases it is discovered that both the parties are at some fault.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Another cause of cyberbullying discovered is weariness or a desire to try out a new thing on the internet. Often bullying take place due to loneliness in order to feel better or vent their rage at society.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cyberbullying: Understanding the psyche of the perpetrators<\/b><\/p>\n

Cyberbullies do not face repercussions of their actions as usually no physical or outer face off involved in virtual world but definitely mind or inner get affected from ignorance concerning the anxiety faced by victims due to their lack of understanding of how to deal with such situations, as per the experts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While speaking about the victims\u2019 stand against cyberbullying, they said that\u00a0 the best course of action will be to ignore it. However, if Cyberbullies poses threat which harm one\u2019s integrity and serenity of being then one must take action against it. There should be awareness campaigns that online bullying is not only not acceptable, but that is also a sign of weakness.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
