Learning from the Horse’s Mouth

Learning from books, within the confines of a classroom, and often in a conventional setup will not suffice in the real world. A creative field as Multimedia requires expertise of the professionals who have been in the field, and done that. To quote Helen Keller, “Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.” Recognizing the merit of a statement like this, the Multimedia Department of Brainware University has incorporated a stalwart in the field of Cinematography to its faculty,

Mr. Biraja Prasanna Kar.Mr. Kar graduated in cinema with a specialization in Cinematography, from the Film and Televission Institute of Odisha in 1997. He chose to work in Kolkata for its rich heritage of film-making, since the city harbours the first film shooting theatre of India. His involvement with the movie industry for the last 20 years, and with the teaching profession for the last 15 years have enriched the department. He has been involved with many Institutes of repute, such as Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata, and Roop Kala Kendra, Kolkata. Mr. Kar has worked in several advertisement campaigns, and is still actively involved in making ad films. He has worked in several project in Hindi, Bengali, and Odiya cinemas. Brainware University is indeed fortunate to have him as a Guest-Lecturer in Multimedia.
