Anandadhara 2K18



Lights, Camera and Action!!! The 10th, 11th and 12th of the month of March was time for fun, frolic, games and entertainment as Brainware University celebrated Anandadhara 2K18; the institutions Annual Cultural Fest. Festivities at Anandadhara 2K18 were rocked by a host sporting events and activities many of which were inter-collegiate in nature. From Cricket and Football to the most quintessential of all Bengali games, Carrom, Anandadhara 2K18 was a hub of extreme outdoor and indoor action.



Monday evening the 12th was a time for even more madness and craze and dancing and chanting as the band Aritra and the Soul Project rocked Anandadhara 2K18 mesmerizing music. Indeed an evening like no other! And as the colourfully dressed students left the campus capturing their beaming faces on their smartphones, tired after 3 days of intense fun, frolic and fierce but friendly competition, Anandadhara lived upto its name providing them with the perfect opportunity for letting off steam at the onset of the new academic semester. With the beginning of a new day, rejuvenated faces walked through the gates with a solemn prayer, Asche Bochhor Abar Hobe!


Campus news

Node Js Workshop

Brainware University, in its endeavor to mold the students according to the current trends of the age and make them industry ready, had conducted 3 day seminar on Node Js at its Barasat Campus from the 13th to the 16th March 2018, in association with Ardent Collaborations. Under the watchful eyes of faculty members and industry experts the students acquired first-hand training and experience of this very popular and applicable scripting language. All round wholesome development of the students is our utmost objective as we look to prepare them for their life ahead.

NAD Seminar

Keeping up with our creed of student welfare and providing them with all the relevant forms of assistance that would help them grow throughout their academic career, Brainware University had organized a seminar on the National Academic Depository in association with the University Grants Commission, at its Barasat campus. Documentation has attained a degree of great importance and relevance in today’s world; the participating students were made aware of this initiative of the MHRD where they can store their numerous marksheets and certificates thus eliminating any fear of misplacement.

International Women’s Day

8th of March 2018 was a day for celebrating strength of mind, force of character, voice, identity and equality as Brainware University commemorated International Women’s Day. On this auspicious occasion we were honoured to welcome Honorable Member of Parliament. Smt. Dola Sen and Nodal Officer, Patent Information Center, West Bengal Council of Science and Technology, Dr. Mahua Hom Choudhury as the chief guests at our International Women’s Day themed Extempore Competition.

Seminar on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking

In an attempt to provide the students a with all-round comprehensive knowledge and experience about the recent trends in the IT industry, a one day seminar on Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking was conducted at our Barasat campus on the 31st of March, 2018, in collaboration with Indian Cyber Security Solutions. Mr. Prasenjit Kanti Paul, Malware Analyst, Cognizant Technology Solutions, spoke about the modern trends in malware detection and rectification.


Highlight of the Month


Digital Photography Workshop

Photography is one of the growing passions for the new generation. This highly creative art has become the prime hobby among the Gen Y. To provide impetus to this art and encourage the students to pursue this passion further Brainware University has an in-house photography club, Photo Frame which promotes the various types of photography and also trains the students in its technical aspects. In the month of March, Photo Frame conducted a workshop on Digital Photography under the mentorship of acclaimed photographer Mr. Arghya Chatterjee. The workshop gave the students a first-hand experience of the various nuances of professional photography. Apart from this, the winners of Photo Frame’s weekly facebook competition were also announced and awarded with a certificate and prize money. Letting the students unearth their passions and creativity and push them towards pursuing it further has always been the club’s primary creed.

Intra-College Tournaments

Anandadhara 2K18 was the hub of a variety of intra-college competitions including Quiz, Antakshari, Badminton and many more. The little grey cells of the participants were tested to the very limit as the Quizmaster fired away one question after another.

The masti quotient reached the roof during the Antakshari competition as the teams belted out popular classics and contemporary numbers. Among the other held events, the most popular was the Cooking Competition. Working with the theme ingredient of ‘Chicken’ the participants let their imaginations run wild as they conjured up lipsmacking recipes of culinary delight, making the Fest spicier than ever!
