Cover Story

Student Induction Programme


The Induction Programme aims to make students comfortable in their new atmosphere and to make them acquainted with the faculty members, advisors and peers. Before the commencement of the regular classes, the induction programme engages the newcomers with different activities whereby they learn about the institutional policies, practices, culture and values.
The Induction Programme was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Subrata Dey and the Pro-VC Prof. Subhasish Banerjee. The students were initiated with an inspiring welcome speech which was followed by an interactive session with the newcomers. Thereafter, the programme emphasised on academic registration & admission formalities. The Systems Officer, Mr. Gautam Deb acquainted the freshers with the various processes of creating account and accessing the students' portal for downloading notes, checking attendance and other academic purposes while Mr. Shankar Ghosh, the Assistant Controller of Examination informed the students about the examination patterns and procedures. In what followed, the faculty of the respective departments, led by the HODs, communicated with the students, elaborating the various departmental activities.

The day concluded with Ms. Reena Chatterjee acquainting the students with the different facilities of the institution and wishing that everyone enjoys each and every moment of their college life. Before the students departed, they were distributed bags, uniforms and other kits they would require throughout their courses. It was overall a successful day.

The students were given additional information regarding the institutional rules and regulations. The senior students interacted with the newcomers and attempted to build a harmonious bonding with the fresher. With the cooperation of the students and the faculty members, the programme culminated into a successful close.

Latest Trends in Advertising and Concepts

A Workshop on the Latest Trend in Advertising and Concepts was organised by the Department of Multimedia on the 27th of July, 2019. It was conducted by Mr. Irshad Jahangir and Mr. Md. Shahbaz Anwar. They not only shared some valuable insights into the latest trend in the field of advertising but also gave an overview of how the industry operates.

Through a very fun and interactive session they helped the students, attending the programme, gain an insight into the professionalism and innovation that is required to survive in such a competitive industry. They also provided the students some useful tips for preparing for Interviews. 80 students attended the workshop. The speakers were also very enthusiastic in answering the queries of the students.

Visit from Directorate of Employment

Research suggests that around one million people step into the Indian job market each year. However, due to the lack of training, they remain out of jobs, contributing almost nothing to the economy.

Visit from Directorate of Employment in Brainware

Mr. Amarnath Mallick, Director of Employment & Mr. A K Ghosh, Joint Director of Employment, Directorate of Employment visited our University Campus on July 23, 2019, to witness our endeavor in imparting skill training. The Directorates of Employment acts as a placement agency for the registered job seekers in enhancing their talent and employability. The guests took time to inspect our Skills Unit and expressed their humble praise for the task Brainware University has taken in hand for developing the society. The discussion between the respected guests and our Honorable Chancellor, Mr. Phalguni Mukhoopadhyay brought out many facts that can be implemented for changing rural lives. We are hopeful of receiving support from the Directorates of Employment to help us towards our mission of fixing the skill gap.

Visit from the representatives of Ericsson India

We welcomed Mr. Rik Deb, Manager, Ericsson India Global Services Pvt. Ltd. as our guest in today's Corporate Connect program. Ericsson is one of the leading providers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to service providers.

Brainware university welcomes Ericsson India in Corporate Connect program

The session included discussions on future possibilities of collaboration, interaction with students and visiting the Skills unit of the University. Mr. Deb wholeheartedly appreciated Brainware University's endeavor of transforming the students into future professionals. The guest carried with him positive ideas and fond memories about the brand Brainware. We thank him for his time and presence and believe that we can make a collective contribution towards the development of the society in the days to come.

Visit from the representatives of Say Trip Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.

Industry exposure has an important role to play for all to-be professionals, to understand the requirement and expectations of the industry. Say Trip Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. is East India's first-ever hotel and homestay aggregator company. They are dealing with Hotels, Cars, Package booking, corporate booking in Sikkim, North Bengal, Nepal, etc. Mr. Jaydeep, Head HR & Mr. Navjit Chanda, Head of Operations, visited our University Skills unit at our Barasat campus on July 24, 2019.

They interacted with our students from Front Office Associate of Hospitality and Tourism Sector and Housekeeper cum Cook of Domestic Worker Sector. Our students enjoyed the industry interaction and were even more charged up to prove their worth. Mr. Jaydeep & Mr. Navjit Chanda showed their interest in absorbing these students in different positions after they complete the course. We look forward to a better association in the future.
