Visiting IIM Calcutta itself is a great learning for a management student, and when it comes to learning from eminent faculty members of IIM Calcutta along with people from different prestigious institutes like, Jadavpur University and government officials it becomes memorable visit. This happened with the students who visited there. They got the opportunity to speak with learned teachers and entrepreneurs. They returned with experience which they will share with other students who will also get the advantage of knowledge and they increase their confidence in public speaking.

With special emphasis on HDFC 200 and RELIANCE 200”. The work was based on their research on mutual fund industry. They gained knowledge while doing research and developing a research paper out of the research. However, they returned with great insights and experience from the discussion on the area of study with eminent and global personalities in the area of research. Among other eminent and global personalities important people like, Prof Asok Banerjee of IIMC (Chief Guest) and Prof Ravi Jain of NUS (Singapore) (Guest of Honour) were present and they shared their wisdom. Research is key to learning. However, how to do a research is a skill one have to learn by doing. Health Checkup

For us at Brainware University student safety and welfare is our primary concern. It is our creed to provide the students with the means that would allow them to flourish in all the aspects of their lives; academic, physical and mental. We have all heard the old adage that a healthy body is the temple of healthy mind. Keeping true to this ideal, Brainware University has organized for a doctor to visit its Barasat campus on Saturday every week, whom the students can approach free of cost to get their ailments treated. We pride on being considered as a second home by the students, and we endeavor to give them all the possible amenities that would allow them to live freely and healthily away from home; simultaneously providing the guardians with some much needed peace of mind about the wellbeing of their ward.

Quiz

Learning theory is important, but for management students learning application of theory is much more important. At Brainware Business School students are involved in different societies like, News Society, Research Society, Drama Society and Movie Society. On 18th April 2018 students belonging to News Society and Research Society planned a quiz competition for the students studying BBA, B.Com, MBA and M.Com. This is the first time when students planned the event, organized it and made it a grand success. Faculty members supported them in their initiative and helped them in framing the questions, its sequence etc. But it was a students’ event organized by students for students to participate. Quiz itself is a learning process wherein the team who finalize questions for the quiz learn current affairs, who’s who etc. and those who participate learn new things while discussing and answering the questions. Quiz engage people, create fun and expand the knowledge base of everyone involved in it. As students from commerce and management were participants, it developed harmony among students in different domains. As society members are from both undergraduate and post graduate courses in commerce and management, the event was instrumental in building team among the member students. With students participated for the event increased the expectations of the society members, the event was a hit.
