Brainware University has always given utmost priority to its students. Assisting them with all the relevant forms of aids that would help them develop throughout their academic career is the primary concern of the institution. With this objective in mind, a seminar was organized on National Academic Depository (NAD) in association with the University Grants Commission on the 27th of March, 2018 at its Barasat campus. NAD is an online repository of all academic awards such as certificates, diplomas, degrees, mark sheets etc. duly digitized by academic institutions or assessment bodies. The seminar was presided over by the speaker, Mr. Somnath Majumder, Assistant Manager of Central Depository Services (India) Limited. The participants included the students of Computer Science Department and faculty members. The speaker threw light on how maintaining academic awards in an electronic depository would provide benefit to educational institutions, students and employers by enabling online access to marksheets and certificates, thereby, eliminating the fear of misplacement or fraudulent practices such as forging. The participating students were made aware of this initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development that aims at ensuring a credible and convenient mechanism for online lodging, verification and authentication of the academic awards issued by various educational institutions.
