It is said that he who plants a tree, plants a hope; a hope for a greener planet, a pollution-free world, and a better future. Brainware University, being a disseminator of healthy education among the young minds, has vowed to make this planet more inhabitable and more beautiful. Keeping in mind this objective, the University organized a tree plantation programme on August 17, 2019, to make the ‘one student- one tree’ campaign initiated by the HRD Ministry of India, a success. The programme started with an introductory address by our Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Subrata Kumar Dey, followed by an enlightening key-note speech by Dr. Prabir Ranjan Sur, the famous plant taxonomist and retired senior scientist, Botanical Survey of India. He inspired the students and preached them to take responsibility for one tree, as their family member and nurture it to save the planet. The students encouragingly took part in the plantation programme which happened just after the speech of our honorable key-note speaker. The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by our Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Dr. Subhasish Banerjee.
