Free Eye Screening & Mental Health Awareness Camp Allied Health Sciences Indian Red Cross Society 04-07-2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), organized an Eye Screening Camp & Mental Health Awareness Programme<\/strong> at Princeton Academy (H.S.), Taki Road, Baidyapur, West Bengal, for school students. The outreach initiative aimed to promote preventive eye care, encourage regular vision screening, and create awareness about mental health and emotional well-being among school children and adolescents. The programme focused on the early identification of vision-related problems, promotion of healthy habits supporting eye and psychological health, and timely access to appropriate care. Aligned with SDG Goal 3 (Good Health & Well-being)<\/strong> and SDG Goal 4 (Quality Education)<\/strong>, the initiative also provided Allied Health Sciences students with valuable experiential exposure to community-based healthcare activities under faculty supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme commenced with the registration of participating students, followed by eye screening and mental health awareness activities conducted by faculty members and student volunteers from the Department of Allied Health Sciences. Eye screening was carried out to assess visual acuity and identify common eye-related problems, while the Mental Health Awareness Programme focused on emotional well-being, stress management, and the importance of seeking timely support. Individual interactions were also conducted to address students\u2019 queries related to eye health and mental well-being. Students requiring further ophthalmic or psychological consultation were identified and referred to appropriate healthcare facilities. The active involvement of Allied Health Sciences students in screening, counselling, and community interaction strengthened their practical, communication, and professional skills while contributing to greater awareness of preventive healthcare among school students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
