7-Day Faculty Development Programme on \u201cNew Paradigms in Textual Exploration: The Future of Reading, Interpretation and the AI Question\u201d<\/strong>
Organised by the Department of English & Literary Studies, Brainware University<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of English & Literary Studies, Brainware University, organised a 7-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP)<\/strong> on \u201cNew Paradigms in Textual Exploration: The Future of Reading, Interpretation and the AI Question.\u201d<\/em> The programme was conceived to address the shifting landscape of literary and cultural studies in the age of Artificial Intelligence and digital mediation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FDP aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Critically examine emerging paradigms of reading and interpretation shaped by rapid technological transformation and the growing influence of AI on the humanities and social sciences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Equip faculty members and research scholars with theoretical and methodological tools for AI-assisted textual analysis while retaining ethical, historical, and humanistic dimensions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Foster interdisciplinary dialogue among literary studies, cultural theory, digital humanities, media studies, and computational approaches to texts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Encourage critical reflection on AI as an epistemic agent\u2014exploring authorship, digital labour, computational capital, and the politics of algorithmic interpretation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Create a platform for academic exchange, collaborative thinking, and professional development aligned with contemporary research and pedagogy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n


    The week-long programme enabled participants to develop a nuanced understanding of theoretical and methodological innovations redefining textuality in the digital era. Faculty members and research scholars gained practical insights into integrating AI tools into teaching and research, while engaging critically with ethical questions surrounding technology and authorship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The FDP also fostered interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative research perspectives across the humanities and social science domains.
