1. Why L.L.B course is to be studied?

L.L.B degree is a 3 years program. It is done after graduation in any stream. Nowadays this course mainly help the persons who have crossed their age limit of appearing in a governmental exam to practice independently as an advocate in the Districts/High Courts.

3. Why should one study LLB in Brainware?

Brainware is providing the following opportunities to the law students to cater the need of the globalized world.

  • The legal curriculum here is based upon the Bar Council and UGC guidelines. CBCS system is strictly followed.
  • Tutorials and practical are to be provided in every semester.
  • Moot Court training where students can get experiences of mock trial on different legal issues. Students can participate in moot court competition of other colleges. Brainware University will also arrange for moot court competition.
  • Legal aid camps: It will be held in a particular area in the last semester so that students can make people aware of the elementary laws and the students in this process will develop their advocacy skills by solving the problems of the people of that locality.
  • Industrial visits in local, regional and national levels at various departments of respective companies. The departments include Legal, HR, Finance and Administration.
  • Career counseling of students.
  • Legal Aid Clinics: The legal aid clinic will be there in the campus itself where the students can give legal aids to persons who need legal advice. This will help the students to learn the techniques of client counseling.
  • Seminars : The dignitaries from industries, academia and judiciary (famous lawyers and judges) will grace the seminars.
  • Workshops on IPR, Criminal Laws, Human Rights, Corporate Laws, Advocacy skills.
  • Internships in 2nd and 3rd year (Internship will start from fourth semester and will continue till course end). There will be 4 week internship program in a semester. Students can do internships in corporate houses, lawyers chambers.
  • Court Visits (Supreme Court - 1, High Courts - 1, Local Courts - 4 - Barasat, Basirhat, Bongaon, Barrackpore)
  • Police Station Visits: During the visit the students will know about the functioning of the police station, the role of police in the society and the procedural aspects of FIR or GD made before the police. The students will also develop a practical knowledge about the process of investigation. It will be done in the 6th semester.
  • NGO visit: NGOs are non profit seeking organization working for the welfare of the society. NGO visit will help the students to develop skills in solving problems relating to social, economic & environmental issues. It will be done in 6th semester.
  • Placement Assistance for jobs in corporate houses and law firms.
  • AIBE exam preparation. It will be given free. Now every law graduate has to pass AIBE Examination for getting license in practice.
  • Judicial Service (if age permits) preparation. Students can prepare themselves for West Bengal Judicial Service Examination under the guidance of teachers, special faculty pool.
  • Enhancement of Communication Skills specially required for lawyers in drafting, pleading and conveyancing.
