Brainware University and the Department

About the University

Established in 2016 under the Brainware University Act, the university is a UGC-recognised private state university located in Barasat near Kolkata. It is part of the reputed Brainware Group, with a legacy of over three decades in education, aiming to promote career-oriented and industry-relevant learning.

The institution is affiliated with multiple regulatory and professional bodies such as University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, Dept. of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Bar Council of India (BCI), Indian Nursing Council (INC), Directorate of Medical Education and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Govt. of West Bengal) etc., ensuring academic credibility and compliance with national standards.

Guided by the mission of its Founder Chancellor, Phalguni Mookhopadhayay, the institution emphasises affordable and accessible education for students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and skill-based courses across engineering, biotechnology, management, law, agriculture, medical and allied health sciences, media, and humanities.

The campus spans a modern, eco-friendly setup with advanced laboratories, libraries, workshops, hostels, healthcare facilities, and sports infrastructure, creating a holistic learning environment. The university emphasises industry collaboration, live projects, internships, and pre-placement training, aiming to enhance employability and career readiness among students.

About the Department

The Department of Allied Health Sciences under Brainware University has started its journey in 2019 to fulfil the mission and vision of our Honourable Chancellor, Mr. Phalguni Mookhopadhayay. Brainware University is among the few universities that provide quality allied healthcare education, producing qualified and competent allied healthcare professionals.

Presently, the department is offering seven undergraduate courses: Bachelor of Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology, Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science, Bachelor of Optometry, Bachelor of Physician Associates, Bachelor of Science in Critical Care Technology, Bachelor of Physiotherapy and two post-graduate courses like Master of Medical Laboratory Science and Master of Optometry, along with one diploma course (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science).

The department is deeply engaged in teaching students of different allied health sciences courses with practical hands-on training. This department has also extended facilities for research and development in various disciplines of health sciences to promote the knowledge level of recent developments in this field.

Recently, the Department introduced the Brainware Diagnostics and Research Centre under its own umbrella to impart the healthcare access not only to the students of its own but also to the outpatients at an affordable rate.

The International Conference BrainHealthcon 2026, with its theme "Translating Healthcare Innovations to Impact: AI for Equitable and Sustainable Development towards Viksit Bharat," arrives at a critical juncture in India's healthcare and technological transformation. As India undergoes structural shifts in health system reform, digital governance, and innovation ecosystems, this conference holds strategic relevance across multiple dimensions: policy, practice, research, equity, and global positioning.

The conference theme is especially pertinent for India's goal of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and aligns with different national priorities.

Should be structured and must be written in English, within 250 words using Times New Roman font, letter size 12, single spacing. The name of the presenting author should be underlined. The affiliation of author(s) must be given. The abstract should be typed using a single paragraph, which should contain the Background, Objectives, Materials and Methods, Results, and Conclusion. There should be 4 to 6 keywords following the abstract. There should be a one-line gap between each section. The alignment and letter size of different sections are as follows: Title: 14, Capitalization of each word, centrally aligned. Authors(s): 14, Normal, centrally aligned. Full Paper

It should be structured under the headings of Abstract, Background, Objectives, Materials and Methods, with Ethical clearance, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, Conflict of Interest, Funding (If any), References as per Vancouver style.

  2. A soft copy of the abstract and duly filed in the registration form should be submitted by email.
