Hon'ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhyay, addressing a packed auditorium at a 'Gender Equality: Unveiling Reality and Dispelling Misconceptions' workshop, noted the historical gender issues women have faced, from Sati to dowry and early widowhood. Dr. Sanjoy Mukherjee and Men's Rights Activist Nandini Bhattacharjee served as resource persons for the event, organized by the Department of Law, and Chancellor Mookhopadhyay praised their balanced perspectives on gender equality

To do away with this misconception, the Department of Food and Nutrition organised 'Nutri Fest '23' to celebrate '6th Rashtriya Poshan Maah'.

Hon'ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhyay took a tour of the food stalls set up with organic foods and tasted the munchies! This was an impressive initiative. An inter-college quiz competition was also a part of this '6th Rashtriya Poshan Maah' celebration.

"One of the main reasons behind my homesickness is the Bengali language. I miss speaking in this language when I am abroad," said former Indian footballer Mehtab Hossain while interacting with the students at a seminar on 'Sports Law and Sports Management'.

It was really an exciting session for the students as they got to hear about their favourite sports icon who has donned the jersey of several prestigious football clubs including East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. Arindam Seth, State Secretary, IAPWB Branch was present to address the Allied Health Science students regarding various types of arthritis. He highlighted how physiotherapy play an important role for the arthritis patients.

It always feels good to come back to one's alma mater. Riju Bhattacharjee and Anwesha Ganguly who are currently working with ARC Document Solution, are students from the Department of Computational Sciences at Brainware University. As successful professionals, they were back in the university to conduct a seminar on 'Software Testing and Cyber Security'.

The industrial interactions are instrumental in grooming students into successful professionals. Debalina Roy, General Manager - HR, Vodafone Idea shared her professional skills with the MBA and BBA students at a seminar on 'Campus-to-Corporate'.

The insightful talk centered around universal health coverage, precautions and actions against preventable diseases and more.

"Healthcare is now growing like anything in our country," said Sanjoy Samanta, General Manager, Narayana Health while addressing the future healthcare administrators at a seminar on 'Importance of Innovation and Infrastructure of Healthcare Industry'. Samanta gave an idea about the life of a Hospital Management professional.

To give an overview about the art of texturing and 3D modelling, the Multimedia students attended the workshop on 'Brushing Brilliance'. The workshop was conducted by 3D modelling and texture artist Sourav Dalui.

Our tech-savvy students showcased their brilliance and passion for all things tech as they battled it out in a battle of wits and knowledge at the Intra-College Technical Quiz Competition on Engineers’ Day.

With the objective of giving an overview on these innovations, the Department of Electrical Engineering organised a seminar on 'Innovations in Mining Technology'. Bibhas Kumar Mukherjee, Retired Chief Manager, BCCL interacted with the students regarding mining technology.

"You know once when I was posted in Chhattisgarh as a Management Trainee in the initial days of my job, there was an attempt to murder on me," said Sutonu Chakraborty, HR and IR (East and North-East), Head, Karkinos Healthcare while interacting with the MBA and BBA students at a seminar on 'Contemporary IR and HR Practices'.

On the occasion of 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week, the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology organised a seminar on 'Boosting public confidence in Pharmacovigilance'. "Over the past few years, the government has been focusing a lot on Pharmacovigilance. Every country is concerned about patient safety and the Indian government has taken certain measures to ensure patient safety," said Dr. Vivek Barik, Associate Professor, Brainware University while addressing the students. Debajyoti Kundu, Data Analyst, LSDO, Cognizant Technology Solutions was also another speaker at the event who shared the various opportunities in the field of Pharmacovigilance at present.

Brainware University feels proud to be a part of the Swachhata Pakhwada initiative. The students participated in a number of activities undertaken by the NSS team of the university. These activities included cleaning campaigns inside and outside the campus. Furthermore, the NSS volunteers took part in the cleanliness rally.
