The Department of Allied Health Sciences at Brainware University lit up with energy during the power-packed workshop ‘Critical Care Connect’. From life-saving strategies to real-world hospital experiences, our students got an exclusive chance to learn directly from the experts.  Dr. Pratik Maitra, Consultant in Critical Care Medicine, shared vital insights on handling emergencies with precision; Dr. Subhajit Sharma, renowned Cardiothoracic Surgeon from JIMS Hospital, Budge Budge, inspired students with his incredible professional journey; while Dr. Oendrila Roy, Associate Consultant at Apollo Hospital, brought in practical wisdom straight from her clinical expertise.

Brainware University took a significant step forward in fostering awareness, empathy, and education around the diverse spectrum of human sexuality. In a thought-provoking and deeply moving session titled 'Understanding Sexual Orientation: Homosexuality, Heterosexuality and Beyond', students and faculty came together for an open dialogue on identity, acceptance, and respect. We were honored to have Ms. Sayantani Ghosh, West Bengal’s first transgender lawyer and a passionate legal and social advocate, as our esteemed speaker.

Our Hospital Management students took a giant leap toward becoming true healthcare heroes with hands-on Basic Life Support (BLS) training, conducted by the expert team from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital. This life-saving session equipped our future hospital leaders with the skills to respond to critical emergencies because managing healthcare isn’t just about administration, it’s also about being prepared to save lives.

The Department of Management, Brainware University, hosted an Investor Awareness Program in collaboration with the BFSI Sector Skill Council of India. The Department of Chemistry, Brainware University, successfully hosted GREENOVATION 2025 — a national conference on Policy Framework and Technological Innovations for Sustainable Waste Management in the Era of Climate Change, organised by the Department of Chemistry. The School of Law at Brainware University marked a proud moment with the launch of its publication ‘Human Rights and Sustainability: A Humane Perspective’ during the Awareness Camp and Plenary Session on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. The Institute of Nursing at Brainware University successfully hosted a dynamic 2-day journey into the world of mindful eating and balanced living. From bridges to skyscrapers, today’s civil engineers rely on more than just blueprints, they rely on technology. The Civil Engineering Department, along with IIC, hosted a seminar on ‘Innovations and Advancements in Civil Engineering Design through CADD Software.’ Guest experts Monish Polley and Dr. Nilanjan Tarafder from CADD Solution, Madhyamgram, took our students deep into the world of smart design.

Brainware University’s Department of Computational Sciences, in collaboration with IQAC, successfully hosted a 3-Day Workshop on User Interface Design and Development. With industry experts Mr. Sayan Sarkar, Creative Art Director, Webskitters and Ms. Ayantika Ghosh, Senior Associate Graphic Designer, Capgemini guiding the sessions, students explored the latest trends in UI, hands-on design practices, and real-world applications that bridge creativity with technology.

Dr. Deepak Kumar Shrivastava, Divisional Librarian at the Government Divisional Public Library, Kota, Rajasthan, delivered an engaging and insightful session organised by the Central Library.

The Central Library of Brainware University successfully organised a One-Day Workshop on NDLI & NDLI Club, in collaboration with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI), IIT Kharagpur. The workshop served as a comprehensive platform for librarians, faculty members, and students to gain insights into the vast digital resources offered by NDLI and the benefits of participating in the NDLI Club. The session featured eminent speakers including Suman Panja, Outreach Manager, NDLI, IIT Kharagpur; Dr. Partha Sarathi Das, Library & Information Officer, National Library of India; and Partha Sengupta, Outreach Manager, NDLI Club, IIT Kharagpur. The BWU Central Library successfully organised an engaging quiz event, designed to promote awareness and appreciation of Barasat’s rich history and cultural heritage. The intellectually stimulating session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students eager to showcase their knowledge of the region’s historical milestones, traditions, and landmarks. To honour the legacy of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India, Brainware University Library celebrated National Librarian’s Day with an intellectually stimulating academic session that bridged tradition and technology. The event’s objective was not only to commemorate the contributions of librarians but also to familiarize participants with emerging digital tools and the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence in research and knowledge discovery. MSc Media Science & Journalism student Bipasha Kundu made a spectacular debut at The Times of India, with her very first article featured on the national page. Turning opportunity into achievement, Bipasha has shown that true passion and journalistic flair can make even the first day in a newsroom one for the history books.

When life tested her with health battles during her Class 10 and 12 board exams, Abahoni Poddar didn’t back down — she fought back with unshakable grit, resilience, and fire. Today, she stands tall as the proud recipient of The Surrendra Paul Memorial Award for Courage by The Telegraph. From classrooms to newsrooms, this future media star proves one powerful truth — it’s not your marks that define you, but your spirit to rise above every challenge.

It all began in the vibrant corridors of Brainware University, where two budding photojournalists — Aditya Mondal (1st Semester) and Ranodip Saha (3rd Semester) from the Department of Media Science and Journalism — began capturing stories through their lenses. Manami Sardar (M. Pharm, Pharmaceutical Chemistry) won the Best Poster Award for her research on the design, synthesis, and pharmacological evaluation of novel isatin scaffolds as potent anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents, while Poulami Sasmal (B. Pharm, Pharmacy) secured the Best Poster Award for her study on the antidiabetic potential of Amorphophallus Paeoniifolius leaf extract through in vitro assays.

Our Biotechnology students took a deep dive into the thriving world of fish farming and aquaculture during an Industrial Visit to CeeBlu Fisheries.
