Vigilance Awareness Week- 2019

Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing a consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. The Central Vigilance Commission, the apex integrity institution of India, observes Vigilance Week every year. This year the Central Vigilance Commission has decided to observe Vigilance Awareness week from 28th October to 2nd November, 2019 with the theme: “Integrity- A Way of Life”.

28.10.2019- Conducting of the Integrity Pledge by all senior most official

On 28th October 2019, Brainware University took the Integrity Pledge for Citizens, where everyone including senior most officials Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Assistant Registrar, the faculty members and students, thereby initiating the weeklong ‘vigilance week’ celebration programme through several activities.

30.10.2019- Seminar by eminent Guest Lecturers, Learned Senior Advocate, Alipore Judges Court: Mr. Amitava Ganguly and Senior Public Prosecutor (North 24 Parganas), Mr. Santomoy Bose

A seminar was organized, where learned Senior Advocate of Alipore Judges Court: Mr. Amitava Ganguly and Senior Public Prosecutor (North 24 Parganas), Mr. Santomoy Bose were invited as guests of honour.

In the Seminar Room of Building no. II of the University, we all had the opportunity to hear an important speech on anti-corruption by our respected Vice-Chancellor followed by a crucial lecture on the Criminal Justice System by Senior Advocate Mr. Amitava Ganguly.

At the end of the session, Assistant Registrar, Mrs. Anandita Das and Prof. Dr. Shankar Gangopadhyay distributed the mementos to the guests. Students too enjoyed the interactive session in the presence of the Honorable Guests.

01.11.2019- Essay Competition

To spread awareness about the message of ‘Unity and Integrity’, University’s Law Department had organized an essay writing competition on 1st of November 2019. Students also participated with great enthusiasm. Sipra Kundu, a student of LLB 3 Years Degree Course emerged as one of the best writers, who also presented her essay before the audience.

Mridutpal Bhattacharya, a student of BBA LLB 5 Years Course inspired the august gathering with his write up, where he spoke about how India can be moved towards a corruption free country.

02.11.2019- Cultural events on the theme “INTEGRITY- A WAY OF LIFE”

To spread awareness related to “UNITY” & “INTEGRITY”, faculty members and students of Law Department took part in some cultural events lined up on the theme “INTEGRITY- A WAY OF LIFE”.

02.11.2019 (after Lunch)- Intellectual discussion session and Quiz competition

After the commencement of the cultural event in the first half, there was an Intellectual discussion session and Quiz competition on the theme “INTEGRITY- A WAY OF LIFE”.

Students from various streams and faculty members indulged in an empowering discussion session and provided view points on how the Integrity and Unity of the Nation can be kept intact. Students were encouraged to come up and speak on relevant topics relating to Anti Corruption measures. Besides, they also participated in the Quiz Competition.

In the end, we can say that the week was a very enhancing and intensifying week.
