With profound grief, Brainware University mourns the untimely loss of Ms. Mahua Pal, Registrar, Brainware University, who passed away in a tragic accident abroad.

Ms. Pal was associated with Brainware for over three decades, during which she served the institution with exceptional dedication, integrity and professionalism. As Registrar, she played a pivotal role in strengthening the university’s administrative systems, statutory compliance and institutional governance. Her quiet efficiency, unwavering sense of duty and deep commitment to the university earned her the respect and affection of colleagues across all sections of the institution.

Her sudden passing has left a void that will be difficult to fill. The university acknowledges her invaluable contributions and remembers her as a tireless worker and a steadfast pillar of the Brainware family.

The university conveys its heartfelt condolences to her bereaved family, especially her husband and prays that they may find strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.

The members of Brainware University shall cherish her memory with gratitude and respect and strive to uphold the values of dedication, integrity and service that she exemplified throughout her long association with the university.

Setting the tone for the conclave, Hon'ble Chancellor Dr. Phalguni Mookhopadhayay emphasised the growing significance of industry-academia collaboration, envisioning a future where AI-driven intelligence seamlessly complements human expertise to nurture agile, future-ready healthcare professionals.

As part of its commitment to social welfare and digital empowerment, Brainware University, in collaboration with the West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation, successfully conducted a Cyber Awareness Workshop to equip employees with essential digital safety skills.

Mr. Anirban Lahiri, HOD, Department of Cyber Science & Technology, engaged participants through insightful, real-world examples - decoding digital risks and sharing practical strategies to stay cyber-safe in an increasingly connected world.

Adding a vital legal perspective, Dr. Kaushik Banerjee, HOD, Department of Law, highlighted the legal dimensions of digital security, data protection, and cyber responsibility.

The employees of the West Bengal Minorities’ Development & Finance Corporation actively participated, making the session an interactive platform for learning, awareness and preparedness.

The day began on an inspiring note with the presence of Mr. Agnimeel Das, NSS Regional Directorate, Kolkata, whose warm and encouraging words set the tone for a purposeful and high-energy session. He was joined by Mr. Deb Kumar Chatterjee, Deputy Director & District Youth Officer, My Bharat, along with esteemed university officials and judges, all of whom came together to mentor, guide and witness the rise of tomorrow’s leaders.

As participants took the stage, the hall resonated with confidence and conviction. Every speech reflected not just eloquence, but a deep sense of responsibility toward nation-building.

Harmony Health Hub Free Health Checkup Camp

The Harmony Health Hub conducted at BBW Brick Kiln, Neelgunj Road successfully delivered basic healthcare and eye screening services to brick kiln workers and nearby residents. The program enabled early identification of common visual defects and general health issues, while significantly improving awareness about eye care, personal hygiene, and preventive health practices. Workers were educated about occupational health hazards associated with brick kiln work and the importance of preventive measures. The initiative also strengthened collaboration between Allied Health Sciences, Brainware University, Debipur Disha Seva Sanstha, and Prince Optical, ensuring effective community engagement.


 Vision For Hope: Free Eye Checkup Camp at Baruipur Central Jail

The Vision for Hope - Free Eye Checkup Camp” conducted at Baruipur Central Jail by the Department of Allied Health Sciences achieved its intended objectives by delivering accessible and comprehensive eye care services to inmates. The camp enabled early identification of refractive errors and ocular conditions, ensuring timely advice, counseling, and referral for further management where necessary. It significantly enhanced awareness among inmates regarding eye health, hygiene, and the importance of regular eye examinations, thereby promoting preventive eye care practices. Improved visual assessment contributed to better functional vision, overall well-being, and quality of life of the inmates.


Heal & Restore at Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon 2025

The physiotherapy outreach camp at the Tata Steel Kolkata Marathon 2025 successfully met its primary objectives of injury prevention and acute on-field management. With a record 23,000 participants navigating the challenging new route, the physiotherapy team addressed a significant volume of musculoskeletal issues, primarily involving gastrocnemius strains, plantar fasciitis and patellofemoral pain.

Brainware University proudly celebrates a remarkable creative achievement as 5th Semester B.Sc Media Science & Journalism students made their mark on the international stage with three student-produced films officially screened at the 12th Bad and Beautiful World Film Festival.

The selected films - Ek Cup Sotota, Tarer Sure Shyamnagar, and Pasara Kirtan Pathar Pratima - captivated audiences with narratives that spoke deeply, stirred emotions and left a lasting impact. Each film reflected thoughtful storytelling, cultural sensitivity, and a strong cinematic voice.
