A proud milestone at Brainware University as Hon’ble Chancellor Phalguni Mookhopadhayay inaugurated GiftYour.in, an innovative e-commerce platform built by our BBA Digital Marketing students. From the first delivery launch to the vibrant display of student-driven products, the event celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship. Under the mentorship of Pallabi Das, these young innovators are transforming bold ideas into successful ventures.

From classrooms to communities, from campus to every doorstep – Brainware University lived the spirit of Har Ghar Tiranga, where freedom is not just remembered but celebrated, shared, and carried forward.

With our students and NSS volunteers taking the Tricolour beyond campus walls, the air was filled with pride, unity and the undying essence of independence. This Independence Day, Brainware stood tall – every smile, every step, every flutter of the Tiranga echoing the heartbeat of a proud nation.

Brainware University observed Anti-Ragging Awareness Week with a series of impactful student-led activities. From thought-provoking poster-making and an energetic campus rally with banners, placards, and slogans, to a powerful Nukkad Natak highlighting the dangers of ragging, students raised their voices against this social menace. The celebrations included a prize distribution ceremony for the poster competition and concluded with a vibrant cultural programme of music and dance. A special mention goes to the enthusiastic NSS volunteers whose participation added momentum to the campaign.

The Department of Cyber Security, in collaboration with the Campus-to-Corporate Cell, organised an impactful session on modern-day cybercrimes at Brainware University, featuring experts from the Cyber Security Cell of the Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate.

Led by SI Somnath Singha Roy, SI Partha Mistry, and their team, the session brought real-world case studies into the classroom - from gaming frauds to digital arrests, highlighting the latest threats in the digital space. Emphasizing that “students are the first line of defense, and awareness is the best weapon,” the officers shared practical safety tips to help students safeguard themselves and others online

Brainware University had the privilege of hosting Mr. Jangjilong, Regional Director, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (GoI), Regional NSS Directorate, on its campus. The esteemed guest was warmly received by Dr. Anup Kumar Maity, Dean of Students’ Welfare, on behalf of the university community. Madhab Bandyopadhyay, Programme Coordinator & NSS Officer, also shared a cordial interaction with the dignitary during the visit.

Brainware University took a major leap in digital learning with the inauguration of its Virtual Laboratory, established under the Ministry of Education’s Virtual Labs initiative. The facility aims to make world-class experiments accessible to students anytime, anywhere. On the occasion of World Entrepreneurs’ Day, the Department of Computational Sciences at Brainware University hosted an inspiring seminar, Entrepreneurship Unplugged: Real Stories, Real Struggles, Real Success. The session was led by Dr. Arnab Basu - Co-founder & CEO, Yancha Positive Parenting LLP; Co-founder, GSOE Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. and Ex-McKinsey Consultant

The Student Counselling Cell of Brainware University hosted an insightful seminar featuring Clinical Psychologist Ria Batavyal and PhD Scholar from the University of Calcutta. The session created a safe and open space for students to share experiences, discuss emotional challenges, and explore practical solutions. What began as personal reflections soon evolved into a collective dialogue on mental health, self-awareness, and belongingness.

The Department of Agriculture at Brainware University hosted a thought-provoking session on ‘Prospects of Freshers in the Indian Seed Industry’ featuring Dr. Shubhrajyoti Saha, Junior Breeder (Gourds) & Station Manager, Indo American Hybrid Seeds (India) Pvt. Ltd. Dr. Saha highlighted how the Indian seed industry is emerging as a sunrise sector, offering tremendous scope for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

Brainware University marked the 5th anniversary of NEP 2020 with NEP Nobochetona - a vibrant Poster Competition jointly organized by the Department of Food & Nutrition and the Department of Cyber Science & Technology, in association with IIC. With 54 participants and 10 volunteers, the event turned into a creative showcase of how NEP 2020 is reshaping education, technology, and innovation in India. Students expressed their ideas through striking posters and digital artworks, blending imagination with academic vision.

Brainware University hosted an engaging workshop on Entrepreneurship Meets Psychology, offering students a unique blend of innovation and self-discovery. The session explored how psychological insights can drive entrepreneurial success, while also introducing students to real-world IIT-developed data labs through the Ministry of Education initiative. The session was conducted by Sourav Sarkar, Radiation Safety Officer and Application Specialist, RPL Mumbai, who shared critical insights on balancing patient safety with diagnostic accuracy.

On World Photography Day, the Media Science and Journalism students of Brainware University embarked on a photographic journey through Chandannagar, a town where every street corner holds a secret and every wall carries the weight of history. Their cameras went beyond documentation, turning silence into stories. A student’s lens brought the solemn crucifixion to life, while another frame revealed the Goddess, veiled behind iron bars, her gaze piercing deeper than words.

Rambilas Ganguly, a B.Tech CSE–Data Science student of Brainware University, has brought global recognition to the institution by winning the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Computing, Intelligence and Application (CIACON 2025).

Baishali Saha, a BSc Media Science & Journalism student, captured a breathtaking frame of boats gliding through the heart of the city - a shot that resonated far beyond the classroom. Her work has now been featured in The Telegraph T2’s ‘City Delights’, earning her national recognition.

Brainware University proudly celebrates the remarkable achievement of Moubani Das, a young researcher in Computational Sciences, who clinched two prestigious awards at the International Conference on Innovation in Engineering, Management, Science & Development (ICIEMSD 2025), organized by EMATIX Embedded & Software Solutions. She was honoured with the Innovation in Technology Award and the Women in Research Excellence Award, earning global recognition for her groundbreaking ideas.

The Department of Agriculture at Brainware University organized a study tour for B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture students to Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Kalyan, under the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Lokasiksha Parishad, Narendrapur. The visit to the Purulia region provided students with a hands-on learning experience, where they explored the area’s unique agro-climatic conditions, studied local cropping systems and farming practices, and observed rural livelihood patterns.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Brainware University organized an exciting industry visit to Salasaar Industry, where students witnessed the intersection of engineering and food technology. From dough mixing and high-capacity ovens to precision packaging and real-time quality checks, students experienced how mechanical and process engineering drive large-scale biscuit production.

Brainware University’s Allied Health Sciences students showcased their skills and dedication during the Experiential Learning in Sports Physiotherapy at the Kickboxing Championship, held at the Jadavpur University Complex.
