National Education Day Celebration

Building an empowered and educated India

To memorialize the birth anniversary of the first Minister for Education in India- Maulana Abul Kalam Azad,the Department of English and Literary Studies, Brainware University celebrated The National Education Day on November 17, 2021. The department marked this day by encouraging the students to speak on Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s exemplary contributions to the field of education and his role in paving the way for the country’s development.
Students like Ibtesham Mansoor Ansari, Saniya Haque, Taatporjyo Moitro, Lalit Sharma paid their tribute to Abul Kalam for being the epitome of educational excellence through their speeches. “He wanted absolute unity among all the religions, he wanted an educated India, he wanted an empowered India '' commented Taatporjyo.
The presence and wise words of our Vice- Chancellor Sir, Dr. Sankar Gangapadhyay helped emphasize our cause and motivate students in the best possible way.We hope to help prepare our students to uphold our country’s brilliant legacy and take India to new heights.

Online Workshop on Shape Language and Character Design

description here Creative Curves, the Arts and Crafts club of the Department of Multimedia, Brainware University was pleased to organise an online workshop entitled 'Shape Language and Character Design' on November 1, 2021 at 3:30 PM. The workshop was led by Mr. Krishanu Bhattacharjee(2D and 3D Modeller and Conceptual Artist). The workshop focused on bridging the gap between the campus and the corporate world by giving the students the right skills to creatively apply themselves in any industry situation where they might be expected to come up with solutions regarding design and modeling. Mr. Bhattacharjee drew on his vast experience to show the students a wide variety of examples and afterwards he took questions from excited students for the better part of an hour. In this process, he unveiled many tips and tricks to the students which only an industry insider would know about.


Online Workshop-'MY STORY - Be Your Own Hero

description here Tijarat-The Marketing C-LAB, of the School of Management and Commerce in association with IIC, Brainware University organized an online workshop titled 'MY STORY - Be Your Own Hero' on the subject 'Digital Marketing & Applicable Areas in Industry & Career' held on 24 November, 2021 from 4.00 PM for the benefit of all the students of Brainware University. The workshop led by Mr. Debajyoti Banerjee focused on the genesis and development of Digital Marketing tracing it to the current times where it has become an invaluable part of every organization's business strategy. Mr. Banerjee used his vast experience and knowledge to enlighten the students about the ins and outs of the Digital Marketing trade and the virtuosity of the knowledge on display was a treat for the students.


Online Workshop on Matchmove and Compositing

description here The Department of Multimedia and Campus to Corporate Department of Brainware University held an Online workshop on Matchmove and Compositing on 13 November, 2021 at 5.00 pm. The online workshop was led by Arpan Banerjee, Camera/Object Tracking and Matchmove Artist at Technicolour, Mumbai.
Mr. Banerjee used his extensive experience and knowledge to enlighten the students about a broad range of subjects which were related to compositing. Students engaged in a lively round of Q & A at the end of the talk, and it was evident that Mr. Banerjee had touched a chord with the students when he shared his industry’s secrets since their questions would simply not stop!


Two-day Workshop on IoT Trends & Techniques

description here To provide technical knowledge with high employability skills, the Department of Computational Science organized a two- day workshop on "IoT Trends & Techniques" on November 5 & November 6, 2021 from 5 PM. Dr. Banani Saha, (Associate Professor, Department of CSE, University of Calcutta) and Mr. Prakash Barman were the guest speakers of this workshop.
In this course of workshop, students got an exposure to the underlying core concepts of IoT in detail. Saha demonstrated the architecture, cloud services and data analytics which are taking the industry by a storm.
On the second day, students were made aware of the different protocols and security features of IoT. As the expansion of IoT in the country is expected to be sky-high this workshop turned out to be beneficial for the participants.


A Workshop On Employees Engagement

description here To learn the techniques for higher level of engagement among the employees, the department of Management and Commerce organized a workshop on “A Workshop On Employees Engagement” on November 27, 2021 from 4 PM. Mr. Sunil Adhikari, (Senior Human Resources manager at C & A sourcing) was the guest speaker of this event.
This workshop was arranged by THE ACHIEVERS’ SUMMIT -The HR C-LAB of School of Management & Commerce, Brainware University. The speaker highlighted the importance and psychology behind staff recognition, as recognition is one of the most impactful and inexpensive engagement drivers. He also focused on best practices, tools, and traps to avoid.


Workshop on Innovation & Intellectual Property Right

description here To make the students understand the importance of innovation with intellectual property, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Brainware University arranged a workshop on “Innovation & Intellectual Property Right” on November 13, 2021 from 3 PM. Ramesh Chandra Panda (Chief Scientist, Wegrow Private Limited) was the guest speaker of this event.
Panda discussed innovation and intellectual property rights. He addressed several fields of innovation with intellectual property rights like IoT, Machine Learning etc. The speaker explained the process of filing patents not only in India but also in foreign countries like Australia, Canada, South Africa, and Germany and so on.


Online Workshop on Literary Modernism and the Temporal Dynamic of the West

description here To make the students aware of the hallmarks of the socio-cultural movement lasting from the turn of the century to around 1950,the Department of English and Literary Studies, Brainware university organized a workshop on “ Literary Modernism and the Temporal Dynamic of the West” on November 3, 2021 from 3 PM. Dr. Subhadeep Paul (Assistant Professor, Department of English, School of Literature, Language and Cultural Studies, Bankura University) was the key speaker of this event.
Paul initiated the discussion with the concept of literary modernism in conjunction with the temporal impulse of modernist fiction. To demonstrate his point, he shared paintings of Picasso and Monet that capture the Modernist theme of fragmentation and despair. He also mentioned the impact of literary modernism on performing arts and it’s tangible connection with the events in the political milieu.


Webinar on CRISPR-Cas9 Based Gene Editing Technology

description here The Department of Biotechnology, Brainware University organized a Webinar on CRISPR-Cas9 Based Gene Editing Technology led by Dr. Saumik Panja(Research Scientist and Assistant Biosafety Officer, University of California) on November 15, 2021 from 10:45 AM. The students were very pleased to be exposed to the cutting-edge ideas presented to them by Dr. Panja in a simple and concise manner. The workshop widened intellectual horizons and made them job-ready for their eventual careers by introducing them to CRISPR a genetic engineering technique in molecular biology by which genomes may be edited in vivo.


Webinar on Virtualization Cloud Computing

description here The Computer Science and Engineering Department of Brainware University organized a webinar on Virtualization Cloud Computing through AWS, VPC on November 3, 2021. To preside over the session, Mr. Nirmalya Mukhopadhyay, Assistant Professor of Assam Down Town University was invited as the guest speaker. The objective was to enlighten students on the various aspects related to the concept of virtualization. Mr. Mukhopadhyay primarily focused on server virtualization and showed practical demonstrations on that. Thereafter, he discussed cloud virtualization using AWS and elaborated on how to launch virtual instances. This was followed by a lively Q and A session where the speaker patiently responded to all the queries raised by the spectators.


Workshop on Portrait Photography on Natural Light

description here What are the current industry demands and trends in the field of portrait photography? To help students prepare themselves for the job market, the Department of Multimedia organized A Workshop on Portrait Photography on Natural Light on November 8, 2021 at 1 PM. Renowned photographer Mr. Arghya Chatterjee was the resource for the event. The workshop started with Mr Chatterjee sharing pictures from his own portfolio and demonstrating to the students the techniques which can take the photo to the next level. Following these Mr. Chatterjee discussed the industry trends in professional photography and how students can enhance their portfolio to get a better job.
The workshop concluded with students asking their career guidance questions from the industry expert. We hope that through such career-oriented workshops we will inspire students to do better.

It is with great pleasure that we inform our students, faculties, staff and other stakeholders that Brainware University’s Institutions’ Innovation Council’s annual performance in promoting entrepreneurship amongst students received the highest four star rankings from MHRD, Government of India. It has been the tireless efforts of everyone involved which has allowed us to serve our students and make them self-reliant. At Brainware University we don’t restrict ourselves to conventional job avenues alone but also extend the idea of employment to job generation. We hope in the coming year we will live up to everyone’s expectations and empower our students to chart their own way towards success.

Motivational talk on Career Opportunities

To get a better way of life by choosing a right career, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Brainware University organized a workshop on “Motivational Talk on Career Opportunity” on November 23, 2021 from 3:30 PM. Mr.Suman Bhattacharjee (Vice President Human Resource, Webskitters Academy) was the guest speaker for this event.
Mr. Bhattacharya initiated the discussion by motivating the students to excel in studies and career. The speaker proceeded to engage the students in various aspects involving their prospective future careers. Students spoke about their career aspirations and what they want to be in the future. The speaker then helped break this large goal into smaller timed goals to make it easily achievable. The motivational talk in career counseling demystified the career progression for the students.
