Brainware Group of Institutions proudly hosted a two-day tech fest ‘TECHNITIATE’ on its college campus, from 27th through 28th September. Dr. Ajoy Kr. Datta, the principal of the college, inaugurated the fest, while Mr. Phalguni Mookhopadhyay, Managing Trustee of Sabita Devi Education Trust, lighted the inaugural lamp. Students of all years, across 5 engineering streams-Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, and Computer Science- participated.

Participants of each department formed separate groups and showed their projects to teachers and visitors. Students and faculties from schools and other colleges also came down. Besides, intercollegiate competitions were also arranged, such as Robo Soccer, Terrain-o-mania, Codathon, Counter Strike, and Photography. Cash prizes were given away to the winning teams.

Techfest allowed exposure and chance to innovate. Let’s take you through a short tour…

The Dept of Mechanical Engineering organised a Training Program on Ultrasonic Testing and Radiographic Testing, in association with the Institution of Engineers (India), Students' Chapter, from June to July, 2016.

Seminar on .NET Technologies

The Dept of Computer Science Engineering conducted the seminar on August 19, 2016. Students of the Fifth Semester across CSE, IT and MCA departments participated. Basic idea of Data Types and Base Class Libraries, Windows Forms, Visual Basic.NET, Web and HTML Controls, were majorly discussed.

Workshop-Android

Workshop on Android

In collaboration with Globsyn, a two Day Workshop on Android was organised, on August 30 – 31, 2016 at the institute. Students of CSE, IT, ECE, EE and MCA, across all 4 years, participated.

Robotics

A Two-Day Workshop On Embedded System And Robotics

In association with I-MEDITA, a workshop was organised from 7th through 8th September, 2016, for students of Electrical and Electronics Engineering depts. They got hands-on experience of advanced tools such as LCD, Receiver and transmitter circuit, Motors, Robot Chasis, Joystick, Motor Driver Circuit, plus were offered the opportunity for practical utility. The event winded up with a competition and an award ceremony.

PAPERS PRESENTED

Pritam Dhar, Assistant Professor, presented a paper titled “Behavior of Shallow Foundation under Dynamic Load” at IGC 2015, Pune Chapter, held on December, 2015 and the paper has been published in the proceedings of the conference.


Tamal Kanti Das, Assistant Professor, presented a paper titled “Method of Improving the Pullout Capacity of Shallow Plate Anchors” in the seminar ‘Geotechnics for Infrastructure Development’ on March, 2016 organized by Indian Geotechnical Society, Kolkata Chapter and the paper has been published in the proceedings of the conference.


Jayanta Nath Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, has presented a paper titled "Development of Strength Prediction Models of 28 days Fly Ash Concrete Strength by Accelerated Curing Method" in the National Conference on 'Recent Trends in Emerging Science and Technology (NCRTEST 2016)' on 29th March, 2016 and the paper has been published in the proceedings of the conference and also in the International Journal of Science and Engineering Research (IJSER).
