Brainware University has been established by Act XXXI of 2015 of the Government of West Bengal. It is granted a private university status by the Govt. of WB and runs under Sabita Devi Education Trust. It is a unitary private university, sprawling over a large lush green eco-friendly campus at Barasat, in the district of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. India has the potential to become the skill capital of the world. Yet there is an enormous skill gap in the country. Our aim is to fill up that gap. With that on mind, we offer only industry relevant and career-oriented courses that would foster employment and entrepreneurial opportunities. All our courses are designed in consultation with industry experts.
In the initial years, we impart 10+2 and Graduate students of 2016 only those undergraduate and postgraduate courses that are job-ready. In these years, the University will focus on Brainware’s core strength areas that are Information Technology, Management and Marketing, and Skill training. In time, courses on other significant disciplines such as Mathematics, Physics, English, Bengali, Political Science and others will also be offered.
Besides, particular attention will be given to English and Business Communication and interview techniques.

Though research and innovation will begin this year, the PhD programmes are expected to start from 2017.
